A king went for a walk on the roof of his palace. While he was walking, he noticed snow on the roof of a house near the palace, and there a very beautiful woman was drying her clothes. The king called one of his maids and asked her: Whose wife is this woman?
The maid said: Your Majesty! This woman is the wife of your slave Peroze. The king went into the palace. The king was fascinated by the beauty of this woman. He called Peroze. When Peroze appeared, the king said: Give this letter of ours to the king of a certain country and get an answer from him.
Peroze took the letter and went home, put it under his pillow, prepared his luggage, spent the night at home, and left for his destination in the morning, not knowing what the king had done to him.
In the meantime, as soon as Peroze was out of sight, the king sneaked up to Peroze’s house and knocked softly on Peroze’s door. Peroze’s wife asked who she was. The king said: I am the king, and I am your husband’s master. He opened the door and the king came in and sat down.
Peroze’s wife was surprised and said: Today, the king has come to our poor house. The king said: I have come as a guest. Feroze's wife understood the king's intention and said: I seek refuge in Allah. I see no good in your coming like this.
The king became angry and said: Girl, what are you talking about? You probably don't recognize me, I am the king and the master of your husband.
Feroze's wife said: My lord, I know you are the king, but the elders say that even a hungry lion does not eat a corpse. My lord! You have come to drink from the bowl that your dog drank from.
The king was very embarrassed by the woman's words and left her behind, but he left his slippers behind.
Now Feroze half remembered that he had left the letter the king had given him at home. He quickly turned his horse and ran home. When Feroze reached home, while he was taking the letter from under his pillow, he saw the king's slippers lying under the bed. He had forgotten them in his haste.
Feroze's head was dizzy and he realized that the king had sent him on a journey to accomplish his own purpose. Firoz left home quietly without telling anyone. He received the letter, finished his work, and returned to the king, who gave him a hundred dinars as a reward. Firoz took the dinars and went to the market to buy expensive clothes and gifts for his wife. After arriving home, he greeted his wife and told her to go to her parents' house. His
wife asked, “What is this?” He said, “The king has given you a reward, and I want you to wear it and show it to your family.” His wife said, “Do whatever you want.” The wife got ready and left with her husband for her parents' house. They were very happy to see their son-in-law and daughter and the gifts they had brought.
Firoz left his wife and returned, and a month passed without hearing from his wife or calling her. A few days later, his brothers-in-law came to see him and asked, “Firoz! Tell me the reason for your anger and discontent with our sister. Otherwise, we will bring you before the judge.”
So he said, “Do it if you want. But I have no rights to my sister, who I have not paid for.” The men took their case to the kaji (judge), and the kaji called Firoz.
At that time, Qazi was sitting next to the king. The girl's brothers said, "May Allah protect the king and may Qazi be established forever. Your Honor! We gave this man a lush garden full of trees and fruits and a well of fresh water, and he destroyed our garden, ate all the fruits. , cut down the trees, ruined the well, and closed the well.
Qazi turned to Feroze and asked: What do you think about this? Feroze said: I returned the garden that was given to me in a better condition. Qazi asked: Did he return the garden to its former condition? They said: Yes, I returned it to its former condition. But I would like to ask him why I returned to the garden. Qazi
: Feroze, what do you think about this?" Feroze said: Qazi! I did not leave the garden out of spite or hatred, but because one day when I came to the garden, I saw the footprints of a lion and was afraid that The lion would eat me. So I stopped going to the garden because I was afraid of the lion.
all this, the king who was lying down got up and said: Feroze! Go to your garden in peace and contentment. In the name of Allah, there is no doubt that the lion came to your garden, but he left no impression on it, did not pluck a leaf, and did not eat any fruit. He stayed there for a while and returned disappointed, saying, In the name of Allah, I have never seen a wall as strong as your garden.
Feroze believed the king's words and returned home and fetched his wife. Neither the judge nor anyone else knew what had happened. The moral of this story is that you should never reveal your house's secrets to anyone.
